In his role, Paul is responsible for evaluating project scopes, preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, and supporting the successful planning and execution of electrical installations.
His career spans both Ireland and New Zealand, where he has delivered work across a wide range of industries, with a strong focus on facilities management and technically complex environments. Richard Veale
Wellington Branch Manager
Richard brings close to 20 years of industry experience to his role as Wellington Branch Manager at IES Automation. He began his career in 2002, completing his apprenticeship with a Wellington-based Electrical for Mechanical (E4M) company and gaining his registration four years later. Since then, he has specialised in E4M installations, working extensively across both public and private hospitals as well as many of Wellington’s central high-rise buildings.
For the past decade, Richard has successfully managed a range of complex projects, building a strong reputation for delivering quality work and maintaining long-standing client relationships. His expertise includes medical gas equipment and plant installations, along with a practical, solutions-focused approach to design-build challenges.
Passionate about the industry and driven by quality outcomes, Richard is committed to growing IES’s presence in the Wellington region and establishing a trusted local brand known for service excellence and technical expertise.

With over 12 years of experience, including a decade in the mechanical electrical industry — Frazer brings strong leadership and hands-on expertise to every project. As Site Supervisor, he oversees all aspects of job delivery, from progress meetings and team coordination to equipment ordering and on-site execution.
Frazer’s portfolio includes major projects such as the Wellington Archives, Wellington Children’s Hospital, and a chiller upgrade at 171 Featherston Street (InterContinental). A Registered Electrician, he’s skilled in medical gases, HVAC fire shutdown systems, chillers, and fume cupboards.
